Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Kanveo service (“Service”) operated by Kanveo (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including visitors, registered users, and paid subscribers.
Description of Service
Kanveo is a subscription-based software-as-a-service platform that enables users to create and manage smart display configurations. A display is a named layout of pages and widgets that can be loaded on any internet-connected screen through a browser. Kanveo provides widgets for displaying information from integrated services including calendars, weather, photos, news feeds, task managers, and more. The Service is provided on a subscription basis with a permanently available free tier and optional paid upgrades.
Account Registration
To access most features of the Service, you must create an account. You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. By registering, you represent that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and current. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@kanveo.io if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from your failure to maintain the security of your account.
Subscription and Billing
Kanveo offers multiple subscription tiers, including a free tier and paid plans (Personal, Family, and Business). Paid plans are billed on either a monthly or annual basis, as selected at checkout. All subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and you will retain access to paid features until that date. Monthly subscriptions may be refunded if requested within 48 hours of the initial charge or any renewal charge. Annual subscriptions may be refunded in full within 14 days of purchase. After these periods, payments are non-refundable. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable advance notice. Price changes will not take effect for active subscriptions until the next renewal period, and you will receive at least 30 days’ notice before any such change.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict their use of the Service. You must not use the Service to display, transmit, or distribute illegal content; to harass, threaten, or harm any person; to engage in unauthorized data collection or surveillance; to attempt to circumvent plan limits or authentication measures; to introduce malicious software; or to abuse the Service in any way that imposes an unreasonable burden on our infrastructure. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions.
User Content
You retain ownership of all content you create or upload through the Service, including display configurations, to-do items, and any custom data you add to widgets. By using the Service, you grant Kanveo a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content and will not share it with third parties except as required to operate the Service or as described in our Privacy Policy.
Integrations
Kanveo provides connections to third-party services including Google, Microsoft, Apple, Dropbox, Notion, Todoist, OpenWeatherMap, and others. Your use of these integrations is subject to the terms and privacy policies of those respective services. We access third-party services on your behalf using OAuth tokens that you authorize. Kanveo is not responsible for changes to third-party APIs, service interruptions, or any loss of data caused by third-party service providers. If a third-party service revokes or expires your OAuth authorization, the corresponding widgets may stop displaying live data until you reconnect the integration.
Intellectual Property
The Kanveo platform, including its software, design, branding, and documentation, is owned by Kanveo and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the Kanveo platform or its components without express written permission. The open widget SDK components are governed by their respective open-source licenses as documented in the SDK repository. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of Kanveo’s intellectual property to you.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available without interruption or free from errors. Uptime guarantees are not provided on the free tier. While we strive to maintain high availability for paid plans, we do not warrant uninterrupted access. We make no representations about the accuracy or completeness of data provided by third-party integrations.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kanveo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of business, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Kanveo in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, abused the Service, or otherwise acted in a manner that is harmful to Kanveo or other users. In cases of termination for cause, you may not be entitled to a refund of any prepaid fees. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before terminating your account unless doing so would be harmful or impractical.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within the United States. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, our business, or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the current version was last revised. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service before the changes take effect.
